ELSI-WG Student Travel Award 2005

I am pleased to announce the 2005 Student Travel Award, which will help defray expenses to this year's annual AMIA fall meeting. (Specifically, the award will cover airfare and ground transportation to the meeting, and 2 days' hotels and per diem.)

Candidates must be currently in graduate degree programs or pursuing postdoctoral studies in a formal academic program. We encourage ELSI-WG members, professors and other informatics professionals to identify promising candidates and let them know about this program. Candidates should submit their resume and a short essay on how they expect to benefit from attending the AMIA meeting. These should be submitted to the ELSI-WG Chair (Neil Smalheiser, neils@uic.edu) by APRIL 1st and a committee decision will be made by May 1st.

Again, note that the deadline is April 1. In my experience, items that are not dealt with promptly tend to be forgotten, so I hope all of you will act on this right away.
